Small-scale, family farms can't compete with the factory farms of today. Ironically, accessing local product can often be more difficult than getting the proverbial "strawberries from Chile". We decided to make it easier. Our motto is "stupid simple". Keep costs low and return the profit back to the producer (in our case, 95 cents on the dollar). We also want to facilitate communication between maker and end use. To affect that, sales take place online and, later, everyone comes together for a quick exchange of goods at a central location.

Farmer/Producer Benefits
New Revenue Stream: Farmers now have access to wholesale customers who otherwise might not be able to directly purchase from them. By aggregating a range of product, it creates demand across the board.

Value: Our 5%fee is much lower than that taken by traditional distributors. Because our system is online and we do not take possession of the product, our overhead is much lower...passing along more earnings back to the farmer.

Convenience: In addition to moving more product, accounting is easer, sales are known prior to delivery, there is one drop-off (unless you make other arrangements) and FarmLink markets all of our producers to an ever-expanding audience.

Transparency: There is no more direct access than straight from the farmer's hands. At the Co-op we called it "meet the makers". Getting it direct removes all questions. Getting it direct allows you to ask questions too.
